Grass season is back, baby!

There has been no grass tennis for almost two years so, data is limited. We’re going to have to work off of some historical numbers and general understandings about the players tendencies.

Felix hasn’t shown any winning form in 2021 (or really in 2020 either). But, grass has been very kind to him. I think he can turn things around now, despite a potentially dangerous quarter. There is no real ‘star’ in the draw and I show value on the Canadian against the market.

I show value on Chardy and Querrey, obviously based on deep prior numbers - because these two certainly aren’t lighting anything on fire at the moment. If Cilic can slam down 20 aces in eleven games then these two guys should have their serves play up too. Chardy is a good hedge on FAA and Querrey is in a wide open fourth quarter with three qualifiers.

I don’t show any value on any player in the top half of the draw but if I want to throw a dart, I’ll put my flyer on Jordan Thompson. Like the rest of my picks he isn’t in any kind of form but the last time we had grass tennis he performed quite well in the 250 level events. The second quarter, like the fourth, is pretty open, especially if ADM is not in form and likwise the whole top half is pretty open is Shapo is not healthy (he missed the French).

Picks:
Auger-Aliassime +700, x1, Bet365
Querrey +1600, x0.5, Bet365
Chardy +3300, x0.25, Bet365
Thompson +4000, x0.25, Bet365
Querrey to win quarter 4, +300, x1, Bet365
